1 medium head cabbage, coarsely chopped or shredded

1 lb lean hamburger ( I used extra lean 96/4% fat) Next time I make this I think I’ll use hamburger that was not quite so lean for a better flavor.

1 envelope dry onion soup mix

1 tsp Acc′ent flavor enhancer

2 Tbsp dried onion flakes or one small chopped onion

1/2 cup beef broth (about 3/4’s of a can)
salt and pepper

Schlemmertopf cooking device

Soak lid of device for at least 10 minutes. Combine hamburger, dried onions and onion soup mix. Layer half of cabbage on bottom of pot. Sprinkle with s&p..being careful about the addition of salt. The onion soup mix may be salty. Use the pepper freely. Top with hamburger mixture and then another layer of cabbage and s&p. Pour broth over all, cover with lid and place in a cold oven. Set temp to 400° and bake for 80 minutes. If desired, I guess you could add some Poppin Fresh biscuits on the top the last 10-15 minutes of baking and continue to bake with lid off to brown the biscuits.

Serve on soft buns with melted cheese slices.
