2 cups cooked macaroni. I used Fiori shaped because I had it on hand
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp dried mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper
1 1/2 cups sour cream, may need to add more and adjust this amount based on dryness of mixture. Some recipes I’ve seen use mayo or Miracle Whip instead. I wasn’t sure about that.
Assortment of any cheeses you have. I used a good handful each:
- Shredded Colby/Monterey Jack blend
- Shredded Cheddar
- Shredded Italian Blend
- Velveeta, cubed-I used about 1/4 of a loaf
Bread crumbs..I used Panko
Combine egg, mustard, worcestershire, salt and pepper and milk. Pour over cooked macaroni. Add sour cream and cheeses and stir to blend. Dump into well buttered baking dish. Add more shredded Velveeta on top, and then a sprinkling of bread crumbs. Dot with butter. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 400° oven for 20-25 min, removing foil during last minutes til brown and bubbly.
