1 (18.25 oz) yellow cake mix with pudding in mix

5 large eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup low-fat or regular buttermilk

2 Tbsp cocoa powder

2 ounces red food coloring (2 bottles)

In a large bowl, combine dry cake ingredients and ONLY the ingredients listed above. DO NOT add the ingredients listed on the cake box.
Check the box for instructions for how long you need to mix the batter and then bake the cake according to the size pans you are using.

NOTE: Using less than the two bottles of food coloring will make your cake pink.

Traditional Cream Cheese Frosting

1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

1 stick butter, softened

16 0z (4 cups) sifted powdered sugar

1-2 tsp vanilla extract

Blend all ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
